He is undoubtedly the one who revolutionized the comedy scene in
Guinea. He goes nowhere where he is not applauded by the
populations, these being composed of a succession of generations
that he conquered and continues to conquer to this day.
From his name to the civil status, Sékouba BANGOURA, the one that all
Guinea now knows under the nickname of ‘’KABAKOUDOU’’ (a
handmade soap generally used by the lower social class) is
truly the master of sketches in this country whose linguistic
predominance is that called vernacular, in particular, the language
‘’Soussou’’.
Born in ‘’Kalémata’’ in the sub-prefecture of Bèna, capital of
Forécariah, a prestigious city in maritime Guinea, KABAKOUDOU,
was not, at the base, predisposed to artistic action. But destiny
knowing how to modulate itself in its accomplishment, he will find himself in this
sector of activity by force of circumstances.
His first steps, he owes them to a legendary actor who also proved himself
within the second generation of this cultural discipline
since it was he who will have him join his first group, in
this case, the troupe ‘’AKINOU AKÈGNA’’, in Kindia where this activity
was in full swing. After some film productions, the said group was revealed
to the public through a television show that was broadcast in the mornings on
the national television channel ‘’Radio Télévision Guinéenne (RTG)’’
and whose title was ‘’LET’S LAUGH A LITTLE’’.
The sketch ‘’KOUNANYI’’ (the front wheel) was then presented to the
Guinean public for the first time and aroused an unexpected craze that
defied all the representations of the time. ‘’KABAKOUDOU’’ was then
discovered in his capacity as the main actor for the role of a
representative of the mosque in their neighborhood who will have to interpret the
dream of a resident.
This sketch, long requested to be rebroadcast by viewers,
will be the starting point of the career of ‘’KABAKOUDOU’’ whose name
was constantly mentioned in the chats. Through his inspiration to be able to detect the flaws of Guinean society
while creating scenarios that correctly restore them, without forgetting
his address to embody any role, ‘’KABAKOUDOU’’ is the N°1
in the comedy sector in Guinea. Having become a model of inspiration
for the rising generations, he now belongs to the very
restricted circle of great African comedians with whom he has also
shared scenes on several occasions.
‘’KABAKOUDOU’’ has not only limited himself to sketch films, he
also has several phonographic works that come in consolidating his career as a professional comedian.
Confirmed at all levels of Guinean cultural life, he is
an ambassador of ……………… and has, to his credit, a film and music production house called
‘’KABAKOUDOU KALÉMATA BUSINESS’’.
